As yet, I haven't edited the photos I took from the 3rd year show for web consumption yet BUT I have done so with the photos I took of a show I curated a couple of months back called Raw Data at the Whitebox Gallery at QCA Gold Coast I probably should have posted stuff about it here but that was all happening in amongst the quick succession of events that occurred in September/October: first was the bike ride we did from Goondiwindi to Brisbane over 8 days and then I went to Canberra for the ACUADS conference. Both were fun but for different reasons, obviously. Anyway the pictures are from Raw Data. The artists included were: Di Ball, Daniel Della-Bosca, Matt Ditton, Kylie Hicks, Alan Hill, Kelly Hussey-Smith, Jason Nelson and Simone Paterson. You can download the pdf catalogue here.

Poor Blog Form
It's come to my attention that it's really difficult to maintain a blog along side an academic job. All of a sudden the semester is over in which I had made an oath to myself that I would be a diligent blogger. Perhaps now that teaching and marking are all but over I can concentrate on blogging and making art... what a luxury that would be. This weekend I'll be documenting the work from the third year exhibition Does My Art Look Big In This? so I will post the highlights here. I have 6 more essays to mark and then I will be human once again.

Sugar for Art
So Week 2 of semester is all but finished and everything seems to be going ok. After a pretty hectic Week 1 it feels good to have things slotting in to place for a change. Already this early, my third year students have begun fundraising for the their final graduation exhibition. They made a wallet-full from selling homemade cakes and cookies and even some vegan "meat" pies. So proud of them, I hope they can keep up their energy for the rest of the year! I suppose if they are eating these rainbow cakes as well as selling them it'll be sugar rush all year!
I started watching the Banksy movie last night. It didn't keep me awake, I don't know if that's a sign of its quality or not but we'll see.

Clean Up
Just finished the first week of teaching for the semester. So I thought that's as good a reason as any to clean this blog up has been lying dormant for a while now. It got a bit messy because of a conflict with my posting app on my phone that I was using to update the honeymoon blog. But that doesn't matter because I'm pretty sure nobody (except for Ahn) reads this anyway, because I haven't told anybody about it yet. But, I intend to be a bit more of a diligent blogger from now on.
Anyway, my attention this weekend will be on writing an article that's been sitting in my head for about 2 years, things like work, overseas trips and getting married, but mostly work, tend to limit the time I get to work on such things so that's what I'll be doing as soon as I finish this post. Of course this process will be interrupted tonight because Jen and I will be driving up to Brisbane tonight to see Joanna Newsom. We might try and catch Bruce Reynolds' exhibition at Ryan Renshaw Gallery on the way.
